The M1928 Doughboy pack or M1928 Haversack was the standard infantry pack during WW2 and was used by all the Infantry units including the Rangers.
The field pack, into which the enlisted man’s individual equipment is rolled, is made of canvas and includes the front pouch, with the quick release buckles and buckle closure, for the meat can and knife, fork, spoon set. It is provided with shoulder straps.
The sets of eyelets on the back and side which fit the bayonet scabbard etc are the correct distance between the eyelets. This means the M1928 E tool fits onto the back and the bayonet will fit onto the side.
